Denzel Bentley will be making a championship defence against Scottish opponent Kieran Smith in his homecoming bout at the Copper Box. Bentley, a puncher training out of Peacock Gym, is fighting again in London after attempting to compete for the WBO world championship against Janibek Alimkhanuly in November. Mikaela Mayer, a former unified super-featherweight world champion, will make her lightweight debut against Christina ‘Medusa’ Linardatou, a former two-time super-lightweight world champion.
\This will be Mayer’s second consecutive fight in the United Kingdom. Dennis McCann, the Commonwealth super bantamweight champion who recently defeated Joe Ham, will make his first defence of his championship, while Sam Noakes, the WBC International Silver and Commonwealth lightweight champions, will defend their belts. Both fighters train out of the Queensberry iBox Gym. After previously defeating James Beech Jr. and Charles Tondo to win the WBC International Silver Featherweight Championship and the WBO Youth Super Bantamweight Title, respectively, McCann made it a title trifecta at The O2 in November.
